2018 Rolling Hills Golf Club Championship

October 12 and 13, 2018

 

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Open to all Golfers who are active members of Rolling Hills Golf Club with an established USGA Handicap.
  2. The tournament has no handicap restrictions other than a 40-maximum handicap for Women and 36-maximum handicap for Men.
  1. RULES
  1. Play will be conducted according to the rules of the USGA, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and the Rolling Hill Golf Course Club Local Rules.

  1. Stroke Play over 36 holes

Men: Men’s Flights A, B, C, D and E players will compete in both rounds of the 36-hole Club Championship. The Men’s Flights will be equally distributed based on the number of players signed up to play. The top 50% plus ties from each flight on Day 1 will advance to Day 2.

 

Women: The Women’s Flight players will compete in both rounds of the 36-hole Club Championship. The top 50% plus ties from each flight on Day 1 will advance to Day 2.

  1. COMPETITION WINNERS

The Men’s Club Champion will be the man returning the Low Gross score over 36 holes from the Blue Tees.  The Women’s Club Champion will be the woman returning the Low Gross score over 36 holes from the Red Tees.

 

  1. PRIZES

 

Prizes will be awarded in the following order.

Club Champion – Lowest Gross Score over 36 Holes.

Flighted 1st Low Gross over 36 Holes

Flighted 1st Low Net over 36 Holes

Flighted 2nd Low Gross over 36 Holes

Flighted 3rd Low Gross over 36 Holes

 

The number of winners for each Flight is subject to change depending on the number of players signed up to play or the number of players in the Flight that complete the tournament.

  1. DECISIONS

The decisions of the Tournament Committee on all matters of competition play shall be final.

 

  1. DRAW
  1. The draw for the first round will be made by random selection by flight.
  2. The pairings for the second round shall be made by order of finish from the first-round results by flight.  

 

  1. STARTING

Players shall report to the Starter at least 15 minutes before the start of their round to collect their pre-printed scorecard.  Players need to arrive at the tee box 5 minutes before the start of play. Late arrivals to the Starter or tee box may result in the assessment of a penalty which could range from 2-stroke penalty to disqualification. The penalty assessed is at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee. 

 

  1. SLOW PLAY 

Player(s) causing slow play during the round will be warned initially by the Marshal and then assessed a 1 stroke penalty for each subsequent warning. 

 

  1. PRACTICE

 

No practice will be permitted on the course before or after the competition on the Friday of the tournament or before the competition on Saturday of the tournament.   

 

  1. TIES
  1. Players tied for first (1st) place in the Championship flight competition will participate in a sudden death playoff that will commence on the 18th Hole and will alternate back and forth with the 9th Hole.
  2. Other ties in the Club Championship competition will be decided under USGA Rule 33-6, Stroke Play (c) using the following method: (1) Day 2 18 hole score, (2) Day 2 Holes 10 thru 18, (3) Day 2 Holes 13 thru 18, (4) Day 2 Holes 16 thru 18 and (5) Day 2 Hole 18. If still tied, count back will then be from lowest index hole
