Monthly Medal Conditions of Play – 2026 Season

1. Season Definition & Competition Structure

For the 2026 Season (January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026), Rolling Hills Golf Club (RHGC) will conduct eight (8) Monthly Medal Stroke Play Competitions.

Each Monthly Medal will be scheduled within the official RHGC Tournament Calendar.

All registrations, pairings, scoring, and results will be managed through Golf Genius.

All eight (8) Monthly Medals will be designated as Race to the Hills qualifying events, unless otherwise stated by the Tournament Committee.

2. Authority & Rules of Play

Play will be governed by:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by USGA and The R&A
  • The World Handicap System (WHS)
  • RHGC Local Rules
  • These Conditions of Play
  • The RHGC Master Conditions of Play
  • Any Event-Specific Addendum issued by the Tournament Committee

In the event of a conflict, these Conditions of Play shall prevail for Monthly Medal competitions.

3. Eligibility

To compete, a player must:

  • Be a member in good standing of Rolling Hills Golf Club
  • Have paid all applicable 2026 annual dues
  • Be 16 years of age or older, or younger with prior approval of the Tournament Committee (case-by-case based on Handicap Index and demonstrated ability)
  • Hold an active WHS Handicap Index

4. Check-In & Starting Times

  • Players must report to the starter no later than 15 minutes before their scheduled tee time.
  • Failure to appear, late arrival, or failure to start at the assigned time will be handled in accordance with the RHGC Master Conditions of Play, subject to Rule 5.3a and Committee discretion.

5. Pairings & Tee Times

  • Pairings and tee times will be randomly generated by Golf Genius.
  • Groups will normally consist of three (3) or four (4) players.
  • Where practicable, groups will include players from different flights.

6. Scoring & Score Certification

  • Mandatory digital scoring via the Golf Genius App is required for all Monthly Medals.
  • The Digital Scorecard feature will be used by each group.
  • There are no physical scorecards and no scorecard submission process for Monthly Medals.

Each player is responsible for ensuring that:

  • Hole-by-hole scores are accurately entered in the app
  • Scores are reviewed, verified, and properly certified by both the Marker and Scorer before leaving the golf course

Failure to properly certify scores in the Golf Genius App may result in disqualification, in accordance with the Rules of Golf and the RHGC Master Conditions of Play.

7. Handicap Administration

7.1 Competition Handicap Allowance

  • All players will compete using their Competition Handicap, calculated in accordance with the World Handicap System (WHS).
  • All Monthly Medals use a FULL (100%) competition handicap allowance, unless otherwise stated in an event-specific COP.

7.2 Maximum Handicap Index

  • Men: Maximum Handicap Index of 27.0
  • Ladies: Maximum Handicap Index of 36.0

If a player’s Handicap Index exceeds the applicable maximum, it will be reduced to the maximum allowed index for the purposes of the competition only.

7.3 Playing Handicap

  • The Playing Handicap represents the actual number of strokes the player receives for the round.

7.4 Handicap Review

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to:

  • Review and adjust a player’s Playing Handicap for the competition only where there is evidence that the Handicap Index does not reflect demonstrated ability
  • Coordinate such reviews with the Handicap Committee

Any adjustment applies only to that competition and does not affect the player’s official WHS Handicap Index.
