Since most of us are going to be here during the EID, we thought that we would hold an Eclectic (Ringers) Tournament
EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Eid Al-Ahda Eclectic is a Multi-Round Individual Stroke Play Event. Only one tournament round may be played per day.
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
Sign-up for this event at the RHGC Events Registration Portal. Sign in and select Upcoming Events from the Event Schedule Tab. On the right hand side, you will see an option to Register Now for any upcoming events that listed as open. Scroll down until you see 2020-07-30 EID AL-AHDA ECLECTIC. If Register Now is grayed out, your TM Profile is not complete.
Please Note: Signup for this event will close on July 26th at 4:00PM. We will not entertain any late entries for this event.
CONDITIONS OF PLAY
We will implementing the “Maximum Score” Rule 21.2 for this event. The maximum score anyone can have on a hole for this event is Two times Par. Therefore, if you are on a Par 3, the maximum score is 6 for that hole. Under Rule 3.3c, you must hole out at each hole in a round. If you fail to do so, you must correct that mistake before making a stroke to begin another hole or, for the final hole of the round, before returning your scorecard. Since Rule 21.2 is in effect for this event, if you fail to complete a hole, your score for that hole shall be the Maximum Score for that hole.
Please note that this is Competition play, so Local Rule 7 (Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds (E-5)) does not apply.
HANDICAPS
Handicaps will used to determine the Flights only. PLEASE ONLY RECORD GROSS SCORES when using the online scoring. The tournament committee will be posting all scores, please do not post scores for rounds played via the GHIN App.
SCORECARDS
There will be no scorecards for this event, all scoring must be done electronically via USGA Tournament Manager App.
RHGC Tournaments
In order to participate in RHGC organized events, you will need to register in USGA Tournament Management - Register Here. Once registered you will be able view and signup for events. There is a smart phone app that we request all players utilize during the events to facilitate online scoring.
PLAYING AN ECLECTIC
An eclectic, or ringer’s tournament, is a multi-round golf tournament that results in one 18-hole score per player. Eclectics work this way: Participants play X number of rounds, and compare their scores on each hole per round. The lowest score made on each hole is recorded, producing an 18-hole score. Example: There are three rounds; in Round 1, the golfer makes a 6 on hole No. 1; in Round 2, a 7 on hole No. 1; in Round 3, a 4 on hole No. 1. That golfer's score for the first hole is a 4.
PACE OF PLAY
Make your decisions on the shots you will make as quickly as you can (40 secs). This includes on the green. Maximum 3 Minutes searching for a golf ball. Please keep up with the group in front of you. Pace of Play guidelines will be printed on your scorecard. Please do your best to adhere to the recommended timing. Marshals may ask you to pick up your pace or ask you to allow a faster group behind to play through. Be respectful and obey the requests of the Marshal.
