Handicaps
Fourballs:
All players receive ninety (90) percent of their RHGC 9 hole Handicap. After the handicap allowance of 90% is applied, the Playing Handicap of all four players is reduced by the Playing Handicap of the player with the lowest Playing Handicap, who then plays from scratch.
Each of the three other players is allowed 100 percent of the difference.
The lowest handicap player plays off scratch and all other players utilize a handicap equal to the differential of their handicap and the handicap of the lowest handicapped player.
Greensomes:
Team Handicaps are calculated by taking sixty (60%) percent of the lowest handicap player’s RHGC 9 hole handicap plus forty (40%) percent of the other players RHGC 9 hole handicap.
60% low handicap + 40% high handicap
Handicaps are calculated using the Handicap Index of the players as at the start of play.
TEE Boxes
Blue league will play from the blue tees
White ,Green and Orange league will play from the white tees
Ladies will play from the Red tees
Fourball Betterball Format Explained:
Four Ball is a match between two teams of two players (a total of four balls being played, hence the name) against each other using better-ball scoring.
All four players play their own ball throughout; at the end of each hole, the lowest nett score between the two partners on each team is that team's score. For example, Players A and B form one team. On the first hole, A scores a net 5, B scores a net 6, so the team score is net 5.
Greensomes Format Explained
In a greensomes match, two play against two and each side plays one ball. The partners each play from the teeing ground. Partners select the ball with which they wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. Whoever’s tee shot is chosen, the other team member will hit the second shot.
Reporting Match Results
Tournament Manager should be utilized during the course of play.
However, in the event Tournament Manager is not working or can’t be used for some reason. Teams should calculate their handicaps for the match and report the result of the match by email to rhgctnl@gmail.com without delay.
Substitute Players
Any player with a valid RHGC handicap but not a member of a team that is already in your colored league can be utilized as a substitute. However, the team utilizing a substitute are not able to earn maximum points will only earn a maximum of a halve if they win the match.
Fourballs Exception: It is strongly recommended that the match be played even if only one player is available from a team. Substitutes are the preferred way to solve the problem of having only one player. Having said that, if one player from one team doesn’t show up, then the person who did show up plays each other player on the other team separately. Thus, one player is playing two separate matches and counts the points and handicaps as in a typical match. If one player from each team does not show, then the points are doubled for each hole.
Disputes
Where a match is played and concluded and the players return to the clubhouse, the match results remain as agreed at that time. This includes situations where there is a later dispute as to one player utilizing an incorrect handicap or where a rules infraction is recognized at a later time. If in doubt as to what the ruling or procedure should be, then do not agree to the outcome at the end of the match prior to returning to the clubhouse.
